This app is still available from the [Audio Chord Wizard] toolbar button, but the improved built-in Audio Chord Wizard can be accessed from the Audio Edit window.

#48140 This Riffstation looks good...it looks like it only loads mg3 files—and notwave files. Is anyone using IK Multi Media Amplitude ---free plugin for BIAB and thereis the paid version Amplitude 2 or Amplitude Max. You can actually take guitar BIAB Real tracks (with Direct outsor clean recordings) and change the guitar patch using Amplitude......very coolfor guitar composers. #48139 Glad you think its worth having David. Its actually my go to software now for learning a new song, for some reason or other it really motivates me to finish learning the song. Its got a few other great features as well, such as looping a section of the song by dragging the curser over the timeline, then you can save that as a session and reload again when you close then come back to the program. Slowing down, the song, changing the key are other useful features. You can isolate particular frequencies as well say as to learn a riff from a lead guitar, not that great in my opinion. The chords are not always right, just basic ones, but maybe in that sense it is good because won't be wrong as often. I was hoping they would develop Riffstation further and would gladly pay to buy the upgrade, but since its freeware now, that is not going to happen I think. In a strange way it does seem to compliment BIAB.....by having both on computer. |

The file was a Richie Havens song 'High Flying Bird' which is mostly him strumming guitar, so it might be easier for the program to work with, but it is so much more efficient than the Audio Chord Wizard in BIAB! Thank you very much for sharing that with us -- I encourage everybody who has ever spent a lot of time trying to figure out the chords to various songs to download it and give it a try. It may not be this accurate with every song, but having just run the same song through ACW in BIAB, Riffstation is far more accurate than ACW! Riffstation showed 6 different chords, which is much more in keeping with Richie Havens's playing than the 12 or so different chords, many with jazz chord extensions, that ACW showed. #48137 Hi folks, I am not sure how many of you use the ACW in BIAB to get a rough idea of the chords of a song. I have not used it a lot tried, it a few times, discovered it was not for me. A few years ago I bought software called Riffsttation which is not bad at for finding out the chords. I think it has a great GUI and great for learning songs has looping features etc. Anyways for those who haven't heard of it before the good news it is now free and can be downloaded from, Hope it might be of interest to a few people. |
